Marine Corps Announces Fiscal Year 2026 Intelligence Data and Software Engineer Training Pipeline Selections

The Marine Corps has announced the approved selection list for the Fiscal Year 2026 Intelligence Data and Software Engineer Training Pipeline. This program prepares active component enlisted Marines for roles requiring specialized skills in intelligence, data analysis, and software engineering.

Program Overview

The FY26 Intelligence Data and Software Engineer training pipeline, formally known as Necessary Military Occupational Specialty (NMOS) 2652 training, was opened for nominations in October 2025 according to a recent Marine Corps message. Selected Marines will undergo specialized training to enhance their capabilities in these critical areas.

Service Obligation and PCSA Orders

Marines selected for the 2652 course are required to commit to 36 months of service beyond course completion. Their End of Active Service (EAS) date must be on or after June 30, 2030. This obligation can be fulfilled through a Re-Enlistment Lateral Move (RELM) or an extension.

Upon completion of the course, Marines who utilize a RELM or extension without command endorsement will receive Permanent Change of Station/Assignment (PCSA) orders based on the needs of the Marine Corps. Those who extend at their current unit with command endorsement will receive PCSA orders back to their previous unit.

Reporting and Course Details

Selected Marines will report to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and be assigned to Monitored Command Code (MCC) K13, Weapons Training Battalion (WTB), Training Command, Training and Education Command (TECOM). The report date is no later than June 30, 2026.

Marines are encouraged to have a personal laptop with the following minimum specifications for the Cybersecurity Certificate Course:

  • Base processor (Intel i-3, AMD 3000 series, Mac M1)
  • 8 Gb RAM
  • HD with minimum 60 Gb available storage space
