Niall Horan Opens Up About Health Struggles, Fears Future Hip Replacement
Niall Horan, the Irish singer and songwriter who rose to fame with One Direction, has revealed his ongoing battle with debilitating health issues, expressing concerns he may require a hip replacement in the future. The 32-year-old discussed his struggles with joint pain in a recent interview, attributing his condition to genetic predisposition.
Knee and Hip Issues
Horan underwent reconstructive surgery on his knee in 2014, but reports his joints continue to deteriorate. “My knees are f****ed. The hips are going now too,” he stated on The Zach Sang Show. He added, “I believe I was just genetically f***ed from the day I was born.”
The singer shared that his father is also experiencing similar issues, having recently undergone a knee replacement and scheduled for another hip replacement. Horan noted his father’s age (66) but acknowledged a clear familial pattern of joint problems.
New Album and Personal Life
Despite his health concerns, Horan is focused on his music career. He recently released his album, Dinner Party, and revealed his girlfriend, Amelia Woolley, served as a “muse” for several songs. He also shared that his song “End Of An Era” is a tribute to his late One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne, reflecting on the grief and nostalgia following Payne’s passing in 2024. GQ reported on this tribute.
One Direction’s Return
Horan, along with former One Direction members Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, are releasing new music and embarking on tours, attempting to build on the success of Harry Styles. Mogul Radio and the Daily Mail have both covered the renewed activity of the former bandmates.
Vintage Watch Collection
Outside of music, Horan has also developed an interest in high-end wristwatches, showcasing a vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava in a recent social media post promoting his new album.
