Lundbeck to Unveil Key Neurology Data at AAN 2026
H. Lundbeck A/S (Lundbeck) has announced it will present a comprehensive set of new neurology data at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting 2026. Taking place from April 18–22 in Chicago, the company will showcase seven abstracts focusing on migraine, developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs), and multiple system atrophy (MSA).
Lundbeck’s presentations underscore a biology-driven strategy aimed at addressing significant unmet medical needs in serious brain diseases. By leveraging advancements in human genetics and biomarker validation, the company is focusing on mechanisms that offer new possibilities for patients with limited treatment options.
Advancing Migraine Prevention: A New Mechanism
A primary highlight of Lundbeck’s participation is the presentation of Phase 1 safety and tolerability data for bocunebart (Lu AG09222). This investigational anti-PACAP monoclonal antibody represents a potential first-in-class treatment for migraine prevention.
Bocunebart is particularly notable because it targets the pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) pathway. This mechanism is distinct from the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) pathway targeted by current preventive migraine therapies, offering a different biological approach to treatment.
In addition to bocunebart, Lundbeck will present three abstracts regarding VYEPTI®. (eptinezumab), an intravenous anti-CGRP preventive treatment. These presentations will include:
- New clinical data.
- Real-world evidence demonstrating efficacy in patients who previously failed to respond to other preventive methods.
Expanding the Neuro-Rare Pipeline
Beyond migraine, Lundbeck is advancing its research into rare neurological conditions, specifically focusing on developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs) and multiple system atrophy (MSA).

The company will present long-term data for bexicaserin, an investigational agent targeting DEEs. This research specifically includes data related to severe conditions such as Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Johan Luthman, EVP and Head of Research & Development at Lundbeck, suggests that neuroscience is currently reaching an “inflection point.” According to Luthman, progress in biomarker validation and the understanding of disease biology is allowing the company to translate scientific insights into drug development programs that validate mechanisms early in the process.
