The 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition District Championship for New England will take place April 15–18 at The Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts, featuring over 100 top international robotics teams competing for regional supremacy.

  • Thursday, April 16: Qualification matches begin at 12:10 p.m. Following a drivers meeting, field calibration, and practice matches, continuing until 7 p.m.
  • Friday, April 17: Welcome Ceremony at 9 a.m., followed by remaining qualification matches and judging interviews throughout the day. The FTC Premier Event also begins on this day.
  • Saturday, April 18: Opening Ceremony at 8 a.m., leading into alliance selection, divisional playoffs, and awards. The finale matches and district awards ceremony are scheduled for 4 p.m.

Competition Significance

Described as the highest level of robotics competition in the Northeast, the event showcases industrial-sized robots built by high school students to play a competitive sport that combines athletic excitement with rigorous STEM learning. Participants gain hands-on experience in engineering, programming, and teamwork under mentor guidance.
