Foiano della Chiana Announces 2026 Beer Festival for July 17-18

The 2026 edition of the Festa della Birra will take place Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, in the historic center of Foiano della Chiana. Organized by the Municipality, Confcommercio Arezzo, and the Associazione Commercianti Vivi Foiano, the event features four craft breweries, street food, and a dedicated Vespa rally celebrating the scooter’s 80th anniversary.

Event Schedule and Local Attractions

The festival transforms the town’s center into a social hub focusing on local production and community engagement. According to the municipal announcement, the event includes a “Piazzetta del Gin” showcasing artisanal local spirits and a variety of street food options, including a food truck specifically for gluten-intolerant guests.

Entertainment is spread across several key locations in the town center:

• Piazza Garibaldi: A dedicated children’s area featuring inflatables and rides.
• Piazza Matteotti: Cultural workshops and activities managed by Pro Loco and Strullo APS, alongside displays of local craftsmanship.
• Main Stages: Live music and DJ sets scheduled for both Friday and Saturday nights.

On Saturday, July 18, the event will host a Vespa rally. This gathering marks the 80th anniversary of the iconic Italian scooter, adding a heritage element to the festival’s programming.

Economic and Community Objectives

Mayor Jacopo Franci stated that the festival is designed to increase the vitality of the historic center and support local economic activities. Franci described the event as a way to make Foiano “more lived-in, welcoming, secure, and attractive” for both residents and visitors.

The collaboration between public and private sectors is a central pillar of the event. Riccardo Reali, the Councilor for Culture, noted that the festival is now a permanent fixture of the summer calendar, aimed at reinforcing the town’s identity through a mix of gastronomy and entertainment. From a commercial perspective, Jacopo Canestrelli and Alessia Fontani of Confcommercio Valdichiana emphasized that the format promotes “neighborhood trade” and provides a high-quality experience that benefits the entire valley’s economic fabric.

The fifth edition of the Festa della Birra relies on a tripartite partnership to execute its logistics and promotion. This structure ensures that the event serves as both a tourist draw and a community builder.
