Greenvolt Group Expands Revolving Credit Facility to €472.5 Million to Accelerate Renewable Energy Projects
Greenvolt Group increased its revolving credit facility from 315 to 472,5 million euros, according to corporate announcements from the company. The transaction forms part of a wider 400-million-euro financing structure originally established in 2024. Within this scope, the revolving credit portion expanded by 157,5 million euros to bolster the company’s financial flexibility and balance sheet strength.
Syndicate Expansion and Financing Structure
The revolving credit facility transitions to a three-year bullet repayment structure under the restructured terms, extending maturity from its initial October 2027 deadline to July 2029. According to Greenvolt Group disclosures, the banking syndicate supporting the agreement grew to include 12 international financial institutions. Four new lenders joined the pool during the refinancing, while several existing participants increased their commitments.
Utility-Scale Pipeline and Storage Integration
The 472,5-million-euro pool targets the expansion of Greenvolt’s 12.8-gigawatt probability-weighted utility-scale pipeline. The portfolio divides into three core technologies:
- 5 gigawatts of battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- 4.9 gigawatts of photovoltaic solar installations
- 2.9 gigawatts of wind energy projects
Battery storage components play a critical role in managing grid capacity, particularly as electricity demand surges from public charging infrastructure and industrial electrification. These storage assets absorb surplus renewable generation during peak production hours and release energy back into the grid during high-demand periods, reducing reliance on fossil-fuel backup generation.
Broader Corporate Strategy
Beyond utility-scale parks, Greenvolt operates distributed generation assets across 12 geographies and manages sustainable biomass facilities. The biomass division includes five plants in Portugal and two operational sites in the United Kingdom: Tilbury Green Power and a facility in Kent.
João Manso Neto, CEO of Greenvolt Group, stated that the refinancing confirms the stability of the company’s renewable energy platform and project pipeline. The agreement provides the capital structure required to execute long-term strategic growth across international markets.
