Reaching the postseason in a tightly contested Atlantic Division provided little comfort for Pastrnak as he evaluates his career trajectory. “We didn’t achieve our goal,” Pastrnak said regarding the early playoff exit. “As I already mentioned, the positive was that we made the Playoffs, especially because the Atlantic Division was so tight and every team was winning games. But, at the same time, now a very long summer awaits us, and that’s not something you like as a player. I’m sure the coach doesn’t like it either. We have a lot of work ahead of us.”
Reflecting on the challenges of chasing a title, Pastrnak noted the shifting dynamic in the locker room. “Until now I’ve only been close to winning the Cup once, in 2019. Every year it gets more difficult. That is what I now say to the young players,” Pastrnak commented. “It’s the same thing that Patrice Bergeron and those guys used to tell me when I was young.”
Milestone Statistics Highlight Strong Individual Season
Despite the team’s postseason outcome, Pastrnak reached several significant career milestones during the regular season.
A high point of his individual campaign came on January 10, when Pastrnak delivered a historic performance in a 10-2 victory over the New York Rangers at TD Garden. In that matchup, he tied a franchise record by collecting six assists in a single game, matching the historic output previously set by Bruins legends Bobby Orr and Ken Hodge.
