Philips Smart Lighting is expanding its connected home ecosystem with the launch of the Screen Sync with Strip Light and RGBIC Fairy String Lights, according to an announcement from parent company Signify. The new hardware additions aim to bring responsive, room-filling color to home entertainment and everyday decor without requiring complex routing equipment.
Screen Sync Brings Responsive Lighting Without HDMI Boxes
According to Signify, the Philips Smart Lighting Screen Sync with Strip Light captures television content from edge to edge using a fisheye lens positioned on top of the display. The device reads screen colors in real time and reproduces them through a four-sided RGBIC strip light mounted behind the television. Because the camera directly observes the physical display, the system synchronizes seamlessly with native smart-TV apps, broadcast television, and any external video source connected via HDMI. Users don’t need to route their entertainment through a separate HDMI sync box.
Installation requires positioning the Screen Sync device and initiating a calibration sequence within the mobile app. The system automatically aligns its anchor points with the screen boundaries, leaving room for manual adjustments. A built-in microphone allows the lighting effects to pulse and react to room audio and music. Consumers can also link compatible Philips Smart Lighting bulbs and lamps to extend the immersive effect across an entire room.
Fairy String Lights Offer Flexible Indoor and Outdoor Ambience
Alongside the TV sync kit, Signify introduced the RGBIC Fairy String Lights designed for decorative applications in bedrooms, living rooms, and outdoor spaces. The flexible strings feature IP65 weather-resistance certification and draw power via USB-C, allowing users to run them off portable external battery packs. The strings are built to support both holiday celebrations and permanent architectural lighting.
