Social Education & Disability Inclusion Workshop by UNCuyo Faculty

The Facultad de Educación at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (UNCuyo) is launching a specialized workshop titled “Social Education and Disability: Tools for Situated Inclusive Practices” in Mendoza, Argentina. According to the institution’s extension secretariat, the training program aims to provide students, graduates, and socio-community professionals with concrete conceptual and methodological frameworks grounded in the social and rights-based model of disability.

Workshop Schedule and Location Details

The four-session training program will take place on Saturdays—August 29, September 5, September 12, and September 19—running from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Sessions will be held at the Centro campus of the Facultad de Educación, located at Sobremonte 81 in the City of Mendoza, according to the official announcement.

The curriculum carries a total workload of 12 hours, split between eight hours of in-person instruction and four hours of virtual activities. Instructors Verónica Martínez, Cecilia Boerr, and Ana Paula Morgani will lead the four meetings. Registration is open to students and graduates of the University Technician in Social Education, as well as professionals working in socio-community and disability fields, via an online registration form hosted by the university.

Core Curriculum and Methodology

The syllabus examines disability through the lens of social rights and social education, moving away from traditional medical models. According to the Facultad de Educación, participants will explore relational autonomy, the ethics of care, and sensitive pedagogies designed to strengthen situated inclusive practices.

Instruction follows a theoretical-experiential-practical approach. The format combines conceptual framework lectures with bodily work exercises and analyses of territorial experiences from the socio-educational and community sectors. To earn official certification, attendees must maintain a 75% attendance rate at the in-person meetings and submit an individual reflective logbook.
