Dr. Erimar Grullón has been sworn in as the new director of the Hospital Provincial Toribio Bencosme in Moca, according to an announcement by the National Health Service (Servicio Nacional de Salud, or SNS). According to SNS Executive Director Dr. Julio Landrón, the appointment aims to strengthen the quality of medical services delivered to residents throughout the Espaillat province by fostering a more efficient, timely, and humanized healthcare experience.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Dr. Julio Landrón urged Dr. Erimar Grullón to execute her new responsibilities with transparency, commitment, and a vocation of service. Landrón stated that Grullón’s clinical background and leadership capabilities will directly improve overall hospital administration. In response, Dr. Grullón emphasized that she accepts the role with full accountability, noting that she plans to collaborate closely with the local healthcare staff to elevate patient care standards at the Moca facility.

Clinical Background and Academic Training

Dr. Erimar Grullón brings a decade of professional experience in the healthcare sector to her new administrative post. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and subsequently completed her medical specialty in hematology at the Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Hermanos Ameijeiras located in Havana, Cuba. Since 2022, Grullón has practiced as a hematologist at both the Hospital Provincial Toribio Bencosme and the Instituto Médico Dr. Gregorio Hernández in Moca.

Beyond her clinical practice, Grullón remains active in medical education and scientific organizations. She serves as a hematology instructor at PUCMM, where she teaches future medical professionals. Her ongoing training includes diplomas and specialized coursework in hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation, blood banking, hemostasis, hematology, and pedagogical methods. She is also currently completing a health management diploma focused on hospital administration competencies.

Professional Affiliations and Regional Supervision

The new hospital director maintains memberships in several national and international medical societies, including the Dominican Society of Hematology and Hemostasis, the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemostasis, the European Hematology Association (EHA), the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), and the GELL Group.
