The Instituto Tecnológico de Las Américas (ITLA) and the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) announced a formal partnership to expand academic cooperation, integrate artificial intelligence into university research, and establish a continuous education pathway for Dominican students. ITLA Rector Jimmy Rosario and UASD Rector Jorge Asjana David met at the UASD Rectorate despacho to finalize the agreement.

Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Academic and Hospital Sectors

According to ITLA and UASD officials, the expanded agreement establishes targeted training programs focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. These programs target both the general university community and the hospital sector. ITLA will provide specialized technical support to incorporate AI solutions directly into UASD’s experimental fields, bolstering ongoing research, innovation, and institutional management processes.

Expanding into Quantum Computing and Advanced Research

Beyond standard digital modernization, the two institutions are launching specialized training for professors and researchers. The curriculum covers frontier technologies including quantum computing, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum artificial intelligence. Rector Jimmy Rosario stated that the collaboration bridges technological knowledge with higher education to prepare Dominican professionals for the demands of the digital economy.

Building a Continuous Education Pathway and Secure Infrastructure

The academic roadmap links ITLA graduates directly to UASD bachelor’s and engineering degree programs, creating a clear progression toward master’s and doctoral degrees. Additionally, the partnership aims to accelerate institutional digitization, improve managerial capabilities through AI tools, and establish secure cloud data storage to modernize UASD’s technological infrastructure.
