Scaffolding Ruse Used to Breach Berlin Flat

German comedian and podcaster Felix Lobrecht returned home to find his Berlin apartment devastated after burglars bypassed past security measures to ransack the property while he was away.

The 37-year-old entertainer detailed the breach on his podcast Gemischtes Hack. According to his account, the perpetrators gained entry by scaling an exterior scaffolding setup, disguising themselves as construction workers to blend into the surroundings. Neighbors who witnessed the suspicious activity managed to film the individuals as they carried out the operation.

The Cinematic Aftermath of the Break-In

Upon arriving back at the flat in the evening, Lobrecht found a scene dominated by heavy police presence and widespread disorder.

"I was so completely overwhelmed. I really felt like I was in a movie," Lobrecht said, according to the podcast transcript.

The intruders targeted several high-value items during the raid. They attempted to break open a safe using a cutting torch, though that effort ultimately failed. Despite coming up short at the safe, the thieves successfully made off with personal property, including multiple backpacks and sunglasses that the comedian particularly liked.

Tracking the Signal to a Parked Vehicle

Among the stolen electronics were Lobrecht’s wireless headphones, which featured an active tracking function. Realizing the device was emitting a signal, the comedian enlisted the help of local police officers to hunt down the gear.

The pair followed the digital coordinates through the city until the signal led them directly to a parked vehicle containing the stolen headphones.

"That was actually really fun," Lobrecht remarked on the podcast regarding the impromptu search operation alongside law enforcement.

Lingering Psychological Toll of the Raid

Despite the successful recovery of the headphones, Lobrecht admitted that the psychological aftermath of the break-in lingered. He described the initial night following the incident as carrying a deeply unsettling and unpleasant feeling, noting that nothing feels closer or more personal than one’s own living space.
