Adeline Marqui took the helm of the newly reorganized Comité d’Animation du Commerce Lourdais on July 23, announcing a structural overhaul to open the association beyond traditional business owners. According to the organization’s general assembly meeting at the Palais des Congrès, the group has adopted a new collective governance model and filed a new brand identity under the name Réseau Commerce Artisanat Lourdais (RCAL).

Restructuring Governance and Expanding Membership

The newly rebranded RCAL introduces a collaborative framework that incorporates multiple stakeholder colleges, according to association leadership. Alongside the traditional merchant sector, the association now includes dedicated colleges for employees, retirees, volunteers, youth, and institutional partners. The organizational shift aims to streamline operations and broaden community participation in local commercial life. The expanded board of directors numbering between 10 and 15 members drawn from the merchant and employee colleges. Leadership operates through a newly designated executive bureau functioning as a triade. Adeline Marqui serves as president, supported by Lydie Marqui as vice-president, treasurer, and secretary, alongside Iris Calluy as assistant secretary.

Strategic Updates and Municipal Support

Alongside the governance reforms, the association has updated its foundational bylaws and advanced administrative and accounting frameworks. RCAL leadership confirmed that upcoming initiatives include revamping traditional community sales events, updating the local shopping voucher program known as Chèque Lourdes Liberté, and realigning the annual events calendar with municipal commercial, cultural, and sporting schedules. Local municipal officials participated in the July assembly to outline ongoing cooperation with the business community. Julien Jacob Lemaitre, deputy mayor for commerce, addressed attendees regarding public domain occupancy regulations, parking rules, and ongoing municipal assistance programs providing financial, technical, and event support to local businesses. Additional municipal representation at the meeting included Dominique Aramond, deputy mayor for cultural affairs, alongside Claudine Aubert, president of the Syndicat des professions souvenirs et piété and head of the Intersyndicale des professionnels du tourisme, and Christian Gelis, president of the UMIH 65 hospitality union.
