Bicycle Group Incident on Specker Straße
The crash occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m. along Specker Straße in Waren, located in the Mecklenburg Lake District. According to police reports, the 91-year-old woman was riding her bicycle down the designated bike path toward the city center. At that moment, a group of 10 to 15 cyclists approached her from the opposite direction.
Investigators state that one rider in the oncoming group failed to merge back behind the other riders in time. To avoid a direct collision with this individual, the elderly cyclist had no choice but to swerve off the bike path. She veered down a nearby embankment and crashed into a parked passenger vehicle.
Search for Witnesses and Suspect Cyclists
The impact left the 91-year-old woman with serious injuries. Emergency responders transported her to a local hospital for urgent medical treatment. Authorities estimate the material damage to the parked car at approximately 500 euros.
Rather than stopping to render aid or exchange information, the group of 10 to 15 cyclists continued on their journey and left the scene. The Neubrandenburg Police Headquarters has urged anyone with information regarding the crash or the identity of the cyclists to come forward.
