Instead of immediate intervention, rescuers waited for the raccoon to descend naturally. When it finally climbed down, one agent captured it safely and transported it to the Dallas Animal Services facility.

Medical Attention and Removal of Jar

At the facility, staff sedated Mayonesa and removed the jar from its head. The raccoon had been unable to eat or drink for days, leading to dehydration, but its condition was described as “surprisingly good” by rescuers. It was later transferred to Texas Metro Wildlife for rehabilitation before being released.
