Netflix announced on Tuesday that Love Is Blind is coming to Canada, bringing its isolated pod-dating format north of the border, according to reports from The Canadian Press and CTV News. The hit reality series places single men and women in separate pods where they talk and form emotional connections without ever seeing one another. Participants must get engaged before they meet face-to-face for the first time.

Casting and Production Details for the Canadian Edition

Casting is officially open for the Canadian season, according to Netflix. The show will be produced by Insight Productions, the company behind Big Brother Canada and Canada Shore, as reported by CityNews Toronto.

Erin Brock, co-chief content officer at Insight Productions, stated that she’s excited to work with a Canadian cast. According to her statement reported by The Canadian Press, the participants will be “genuinely open to finding their soulmates, and to share their unique stories and authentic experiences.” Brock added that she is “one of the gazillion Day-1-diehards who knows how brilliant this format is.”

Global Expansion of the Reality Hit

The original U.S. version of Love Is Blind premiered in 2020 on Netflix and became a pandemic-era breakout.
