The ultra-luxury flagship sedan, built as a near-identical twin to James’s personal vehicle, features a light ivory exterior, a dark blue Nappa leather interior, and bespoke personal engravings before heading to a charity auction.
Custom Design and Bespoke Interior Details
According to Carscoops, the customized Mercedes-Maybach S 680 sports a light ivory exterior finish paired with matching wheels, swapping traditional V12 exterior badging for custom “LJ” emblems. Cassius Life notes that the exterior gives the sedan a regal presence without relying on excessive flash. Inside, the cabin features Stormy Weather Nappa leather contrasted with porcelain white stitching, Black Piano Lacquer Flowing Lines trim, and numerous “LJ” logos throughout the cabin, as reported by Carscoops.
Further personalizing the build, the vehicle incorporates discreet engravings referencing Akron, Ohio, and James’s family, including a center console badge displaying the city’s GPS coordinates, according to Carscoops. Cassius Life adds that Mercedes-Benz also integrated James’s crown logo into the design, blending high-end automotive craftsmanship with the athlete’s personal aesthetic.
Performance and Powertrain Specifications
Under the hood, the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 carries a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine that generates 621 horsepower (463 kW / 630 PS) and 664 lb-ft (899 Nm) of torque, according to Carscoops. The engine pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel-drive system, allowing the luxury sedan to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds.

The vehicle makes its public debut during Monterey Car Week, where Mercedes is showcasing an extensive assortment of modern and classic vehicles, according to Carscoops.
