Microsoft has announced two limited-edition Xbox controllers to celebrate the upcoming launch of Gears of War: E-Day, giving fans hardware inspired by the symbols, scars, and battles of humanity’s war against the Locust Horde, according to reporting by TrueAchievements.

Priced at $89.99 / £84.99, the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller is designed to reflect the brutality of Emergence Day, as reported by TrueAchievements. The hardware features 3D molded and laser-etched details portraying cracked asphalt with red glowing cracks, anchored by a Crimson Omen centerpiece. Additional design choices include blacked-out ABY buttons, a transparent red X button that matches the triggers and transparent D-pad, a dark silver metallic COG tag on the battery door, and textured grips.
Xbox Design Lab Customization Options
According to TrueAchievements, Microsoft is also releasing a second pad through the Xbox Design Lab starting September 30. This customizable controller features a top case decorated with a skull perched atop crossed Lancers, surrounded by additional skulls and battle-worn details inspired by the COG and Locust conflict.
