Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Her Past Marriage to Tom Cruise

In an interview detailing her early career and personal life, Kidman shared that despite warnings from those around her, she felt completely natural entering the marriage and prioritized love over professional ambition.

According to profile details, Kidman met Cruise on the set of the 1990 racing film Days of Thunder. The pair moved quickly, marrying on Christmas Eve in 1990. Kidman noted that friends and advisers cautioned her against the union, warning that marrying a major box-office draw at such a young stage could derail her budding acting trajectory.

The marriage placed the young Australian actress into intense media scrutiny under the title of “Tom Cruise’s wife.” During their 11 years together, the couple adopted two children, Isabella in 1992 and Connor in 1995, and co-starred in Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 psychological drama Eyes Wide Shut.
