BIGBANG Returns: K-Pop Legend Kicks Off World Tour as a Trio

K-pop group BIGBANG returned as a trio with a three-night concert series at Goyang Stadium from August 21 to August 23, 2026, launching an expansive world tour that spans 33 shows across 19 cities, according to YG Entertainment. Performing together for the first time since their 2017 “Last Dance” concert at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome, members G-Dragon, Daesung, and Taeyang delivered a two-and-a-half-hour set featuring 32 tracks to an audience of fans.

BIGBANG World Tour ‘XX : COSMOS’ Kickoff in Goyang

The “XX : COSMOS” tour opened on August 21 with “Fantastic Baby,” a 2012 release that became the first music video by a Korean group to surpass views on YouTube in January 2016. Wearing white suits, the three members emerged onto the stage as red-themed screens parted. The setlist mixed group hits such as “Haru Haru,” “Lies,” “Loser,” “Home Sweet Home,” and “Bang Bang Bang” with solo and collaborative tracks, including G-Dragon’s “Crayon” and “Crooked,” the G-Dragon and Taeyang collaboration “Good Boy,” and Daesung’s “Look at Me, Gwisun.” YG Entertainment noted that several tracks received musical updates, including R&B arrangements for “Haru Haru” and “Lies,” and a Latin pop version of G-Dragon’s solo track “Power.” The group also debuted “Big,” a new track commemorating their 20th anniversary.

High-Profile Production and Live Band Collaboration

The arena production relied on a five-piece live band led by music director Wow Jones. Visual staging was supported by Mike Carson, director of the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and Es Devlin, designer for the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, who utilized lighting and video backdrops aligned with the setlist. During encores featuring “Sunset Glow” and “Last Farewell,” fans in the lower bowl stood up to sing along and chant the group’s name.

Global Itinerary and Member Reflections

Reflecting on the milestone during the final segments of the opening weekend, G-Dragon told the crowd, “The real BIGBANG is back. Although we never went anywhere.” Daesung expressed gratitude for the audience’s response, while Taeyang noted the significance of sharing a 20-year career trajectory with their fanbase. The “XX : COSMOS” tour will continue through next year across North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia, with additional tour dates and cities to be announced sequentially by YG Entertainment.
