San Francisco 49ers owner and CEO Jed York was arrested on August 23 during an undercover prostitution sting in East Palestine, Ohio, according to court documents and police records obtained by the Daily Mail. York, 46, was taken into custody after arranging to meet an undercover law enforcement agent at a local mobile home community.

Arrest Details in East Palestine

According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, York responded to an undercover advertisement placed on a known prostitution website by law enforcement. He agreed to pay $140 for sexual activity and drove to the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community in East Palestine in a rental Volkswagen SUV.

Bodycam footage released by the East Palestine Police Department shows officers pulling over York’s vehicle and placing him in handcuffs. According to the footage and police reports, officers found York wearing his wedding ring, a New York Yankees T-shirt, basketball shorts, and tennis shoes.

When officers asked York what he was doing at the trailer park, he replied that he was “just driving.” When asked if he was meeting anyone, he stated, “No.”

Legal Charges and Plea Agreement

According to police and court records, officers searching York’s rental vehicle recovered two mobile phones and $160 in cash. One phone featured a background image of York’s two sons, while the other was identified as the device used to arrange the meeting using the alias “Joe.”

York was initially booked into the Columbiana County Jail on charges of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools, both misdemeanors.

On August 25, York reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. He pleaded no contest to amended charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, according to court records. Judge presiding over the case sentenced York to one day in jail, granting him credit for time served, and ordered him to pay $1,150 in fines. As part of the resolution, the $160 seized from his vehicle was transferred to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, and York completed a required online course.
