According to local sports authorities, the system designates six elementary schools, three junior high schools, and one high school as core football development institutions. This setup creates a unified talent corridor from childhood to high school graduation.

As part of this initiative, three junior high schools in Yuhang now admit specialized football students without standard district boundary restrictions. Official figures show that the pathway produced 19 football reserve players for the Hangzhou municipal sports teams in 2025 alone, illustrating measurable progress in regional talent cultivation.

Broad Regional Participation and Competitive Scope

Competition featured 25 squads from the core “631” network—including Liangzhu No. 1 Elementary School, Wuchang Elementary School, and Piyan No. 1 Middle School—competing alongside 19 visiting teams from six districts and cities, including Binjiang, Qiantang, and Yuyao in Ningbo. Many of the visiting rosters represent state- or provincial-level campus football specialty schools, providing Yuhang athletes with high-level testing grounds.

According to tournament organizers, the schedule was divided into five distinct brackets: elementary girls’ five-a-side, elementary boys’ eight-a-side, junior high boys’ eight-a-side, middle school girls’ eight-a-side, and high school boys’ eleven-a-side. It ranks as one of the largest regional youth football brand events held in Yuhang in recent years.

Tournament Results and Local Standings

Host teams secured several top placements across the five divisions after days of bracket matches. Piyan Middle School claimed the runner-up spot in the high school boys’ eleven-a-side division, while Liangzhu No. 1 Elementary School finished second in the elementary girls’ group. Additional podium finishes for local sides included Piyan No. 1 Middle School taking second in the junior high boys’ bracket, Cangqian Middle School placing third in the middle school girls’ group, and Wuchang Elementary School advancing to the final four of the elementary boys’ division.

Organizers stated that the invitational serves as a practical step toward executing national football reform directives and supports Hangzhou’s ongoing development as a national key city for football advancement. The tournament functions both as a competitive showcase for youth athletes and as a catalyst for Yuhang’s broader “future football city” development goals.
