Two people died early Sunday following a shooting at a Northwest Side San Antonio home, according to local law enforcement and the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office. Investigators report that 48-year-old Erica Martinez and 23-year-old Justin Martinez died after gunfire broke out during an argument inside a residence on Sutton Place.

Early Morning Emergency Response on Sutton Place

San Antonio police officers responded to a home located off Sutton Place near Prue Road at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, according to reports from News 4 San Antonio.

Upon arrival, authorities found Erica Martinez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

Hospital Transport and Medical Examiner Confirmation

Investigators determined that Justin Martinez sustained a gunshot wound during the incident. Emergency responders transported him to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
