Earlier in the festival schedule on the evening of August 25, 2026, Kaiping hosted a themed gathering titled “National Comics Inherits Elegance, Book Fragrance Nourishes Overseas Chinese Hometown” at the Bridge Coffee Camp.
According to local reporting, the coffee camp venue served as a new nighttime cultural scene designed to engage adult readers and community members. By combining coffee culture with traditional Chinese comics and local Overseas Chinese heritage—known locally as qiaoxiang culture—organizers aimed to diversify reading promotion formats beyond traditional indoor libraries.
