Samsung Debuts Glasses-Free 3D Spatial Signage at Gamescom 2026

Samsung Electronics debuted its Spatial Signage technology—a lineup of 3D displays that do not require special glasses—at the Gamescom 2026 convention in Cologne, according to the Korea Herald. The company featured four distinct screens at its booth to handle visitor navigation, digital cosplay, and interactive photography, demonstrating how enterprise volumetric displays can move beyond standard static signage.

The hardware is designed specifically for commercial and retail environments, featuring a slim 52-millimeter depth that eliminates the need for the bulky structural housing typically required for holographic equipment and older 3D display formats, according to the Korea Herald. Samsung is positioning the displays for deployment in retail stores, pop-up spaces, shopping malls, and flagship brand locations.

Interactive T1 Photography Zone Powered by Spatial Signage

At the booth’s T1 esports zone, Samsung deployed three of its Spatial Signage screens in a dedicated photo area, according to the Korea Herald. Visitors used one screen for navigation while standing before a camera setup to interact with digital avatars of players from the T1 esports roster, including Lee Sang-hyeok, widely known as Faker.

The software generated a 3D composite image placing the selected esports athlete directly beside the participant in a signature pose, according to the Korea Herald. Attendees could then scan a generated QR code with a smartphone to download a personalized Photo Sign Card featuring a digital autograph from the player.

Real-Time Crimson Desert Digital Cosplay

A separate area styled to resemble a tavern from the game Crimson Desert utilized a body-tracking interactive system developed by publisher Pearl Abyss, according to the Korea Herald. The setup tracked visitor movements and body shapes in real time, digitally applying in-game armor and character apparel.
