This grant program finances interventions aimed at hydrogeological risk prevention, sustainable water resource management, and climate change adaptation across mountain, hill, and plain municipalities.

According to Fondazione CRT, the funding structure provides up to 30,000 euros for individual municipalities or union of municipalities, requiring a minimum co-financing rate of 25 percent. For aggregated projects involving multiple towns, the grant increases to a maximum of 40,000 euros per participating municipality, capped at 120,000 euros total per project with a minimum 20 percent co-financing share. According to Fondazione CRT President Anna Maria Poggi, the initiative focuses on transforming idle buildings into active spaces for citizen participation, social aggregation, and youth involvement, specifically targeting residents under 35. The program encourages partnerships between local administrations, the third sector, schools, and local associations to combat demographic decline and population aging in rural areas.

Strategic Priorities for Marginal Territories

According to President Anna Maria Poggi, strengthening these measures reflects the foundation’s commitment to supporting the social and territorial fabric of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. The dual-track approach addresses physical vulnerabilities like landslides and droughts alongside social fragilities like depopulation and the loss of local services, ensuring small towns receive financial backing for vital local projects.
