The New Zealand Lotto Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $28 million for the Saturday draw after no player claimed the top prize during the Wednesday drawing, according to official results reported by The New Zealand Herald.
Wednesday’s drawing featured a $25 million jackpot, which marked the largest top prize offered by New Zealand Lotto in 2025. The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday were 37, 3, 31, 12, 9, and 15, with 39 serving as the Bonus Ball and 6 as the Powerball number, as detailed by The New Zealand Herald. Because no ticket matched all the winning numbers plus the Powerball, the grand prize rolled over to Saturday’s drawing, reaching $28 million.
Recent First Division Winners and Ticket Wins
While the multi-million dollar Powerball prize went unclaimed on Wednesday, multiple players secured smaller First Division prizes. This followed a draw the previous weekend where a single Waikato resident claimed a $1 million First Division prize using a ticket purchased online through MyLotto.
She checked the numbers and found that all six matched, securing a $500,000 prize.
“The person on the phone read out the winning numbers as I checked them on my ticket,” the winner said, according to The New Zealand Herald. “I had all six and she asked me if I knew what that meant – but I didn’t. That’s when she told me the prize for that draw was $500,000. I was absolutely speechless and almost in tears.”
