The annual Fête du Parc Birabeille in Mios, Gironde, returns for a two-day community celebration on September 11 and 12, 2026, featuring free family entertainment centered on nature, environmental awareness, and upcycled arts, according to the official municipal schedule published by the Ville de Mios.
Program and Schedule for the 2026 Edition
The weekend festivities open on Friday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the local media library with a performance of “Une gomme et un crayon,” a poetic musical show tailored for young children by the company Cie Do Rêve Mi, as reported by the Ville de Mios. The main events shift to the Parc Birabeille on Saturday, September 12, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday’s lineup introduces several new attractions alongside returning favorites. The Municipal Youth Council is organizing a stilts initiation with Les Hérons des Lacs, operating from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., while Loco Live brings the roaming theatrical troupe Korigami for multiple afternoon performances, according to Ville de Mios. Additional activities include wood-based escape games by Accros d’Aventure, a petting zoo from La Petite Ferme de Pouillon, and circus arts workshops hosted by Feelethick.
Environmental Focus and Upcycling Workshops
Visitors can participate in hands-on sessions building musical instruments out of recycled items with Cie Do Rêve Mi or watch diagnostic bicycle demonstrations and geodesic dome construction with Insert’Cycles.
Institutional partners and local organizations are also contributing educational stands. The Regional Natural Park of the Landes de Gascogne is organizing group canoe trips on the Eyre river, while the DFCI (Défense des Forêts Contre les Incendies d’Aquitaine) provides fire prevention education and children’s activities involving fire hoses, as detailed by the Ville de Mios. Additional stations feature composting guidance from COBAN and Eco’ban, water conservation tips from CREPAQ, and fauna-flora awareness games hosted by the Conservatoire d’Espaces Naturels.
Concerts and Evening Entertainment
Musical performances anchor the late afternoon and evening at the park’s guinguette stage. On-site catering and refreshment stands operate throughout the afternoon and evening.
