Additionally, pursuant to Article 1, paragraph 547 of Law No. 145/2018, medical residents enrolled from their second year onward in ophthalmology or related specialization programs may participate in the selection.
Candidates must be registered with the Order of Physicians and Surgeons. Professionals registered in other European Union member states or third countries are permitted to apply under the condition that they complete their formal registration with the Italian medical board prior to taking up service. Personnel already employed indefinitely within the public sanitary role in the same discipline prior to February 1, 1998, are exempt from the specialization requirement under Presidential Decree No. 483/1997, provided they submit the required self-certification.
