53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards: Start Time and YouTube Streaming Details Revealed

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will stream live on YouTube on Friday, October 30, according to Soap Opera Network. The telecast originates from the historic Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.

Viewers can access the ceremony for free without a television provider across mobile devices, Smart TVs, Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, Fire TV, Chromecast, iPhone, iPad, and Android. Streaming options include watch.theemmys.tv and the official Emmys YouTube Channel operated by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the governing body behind the awards.

Ceremony Details and Leading Nominations

According to Soap Opera Network, the single-night presentation covers all categories, including creative arts. “The Young and the Restless” leads all programs with 18 nominations. “Beyond the Gates” follows with 15 nods, while “General Hospital” secured 13, “Days of our Lives” earned eight, and “The Bold and the Beautiful” picked up seven.

NATAS Productions is producing the telecast, with Adam Sharp and Lara Gates serving as executive producers. Leon Knoles returns to direct, and Rachel Schwartz acts as Head of Daytime. Lutz & Carr, LLP provides accounting services for the competition.

This broadcast marks the fourth time this year that NATAS has streamed an Emmy ceremony on YouTube, following the 47th Annual Sports Emmy Awards and the multi-night presentation of the 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards in May.

Lifetime Achievement Honor for Genie Francis

“General Hospital” icon Genie Francis will receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award during the ceremony, according to Soap Opera Network. Francis won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007 for her portrayal of Laura Spencer.

Francis debuted on the soap in 1977 as a teenage Laura Vining, and she will mark 50 years in daytime television in February 2027. Her 1981 on-screen wedding with Luke Spencer, portrayed by the late Anthony Geary, drew an average of 30 million viewers and remains the most-watched single episode of a regularly scheduled daytime program. That landmark broadcast also featured a cameo by the late Elizabeth Taylor, who originated the role of Helena Cassadine.
