A fatal motorcycle collision in east El Paso claimed the life of Thomas Joseph Saddler, according to the El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigation unit.

Crash Dynamics and Initial Police Findings

The collision unfolded when the driver of the Chevrolet Colorado attempted a left turn to travel westbound on Montana Avenue while the motorcycle approached from the same direction. According to the preliminary police investigation, Saddler swerved sharply to the right in an attempt to avoid a direct impact but ultimately collided with the rear of the pickup truck. The force of the crash threw the driver from the BMW G-310, causing severe internal injuries and trauma.

Emergency medical personnel administered aid at the scene before transporting Saddler to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Investigators with the El Paso Police Department traffic unit continue to examine the factors leading up to the impact, including potential speed and driver distraction.

El Paso Traffic Fatality Statistics

Saddler’s death marks the 13th traffic fatality recorded on El Paso streets, according to municipal safety data. Despite the severity of the incident, local authorities note a downward trend in overall traffic deaths compared to the previous year. Data from the police department shows that by this same point in 2025, the city had logged 17 traffic-related deaths, reflecting a decrease of nearly 23% in fatal crashes for the current cycle.
