The Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET) has activated yellow weather alerts across the Comunidad de Madrid as maximum temperatures reach up to 37°C in parts of the region, according to forecasts.
Madrid Heat Wave Triggers AEMET Yellow Weather Alerts
Temperatures remain high across the Madrid region, prompting official weather warnings during the peak afternoon hours. According to AEMET, the yellow alerts cover the metropolitan area, the Corredor del Henares, and the Sierra, where maximum temperatures will exceed 35°C, rising to 36°C across most of the territory.
Local spikes are hitting specific municipalities particularly hard. Meanwhile, Getafe and Navalcarnero expect peaks of 36°C, while Collado Villalba and Madrid capital reach 35°C.
Nighttime conditions provide little relief from the daytime heat. According to meteorological data, overnight minimums range between 16°C and 20°C, with the highest minimum of 20°C recorded in Madrid capital. Other municipalities report cooler night spots, such as 18°C in Collado Villalba and Getafe, 17°C in Navalcarnero, and 16°C in Alcalá de Henares and Aranjuez.
Forecasted Temperature Drop and Mid-Week Rain Chances
The persistent heat will break midweek as cooler air moves into the region. AEMET forecasts a sharp temperature drop starting Wednesday, bringing daytime maximums down to around 29°C on Wednesday and 28°C on Thursday.

Atmospheric conditions will shift alongside the cooling trend. Skies remain mostly clear early in the week, though afternoon cloud development is expected over the Sierra, accompanied by light variable winds that turn moderate during the evenings. Precipitation probabilities tick upward slightly to 5% on Thursday and Saturday, though drier conditions are expected to return quickly as maximum temperatures climb back to 30°C on Saturday and 31°C on Sunday.
