Saturday Afternoon Shooting Behind Cancún Plaza

A male dentist was shot and killed on Saturday afternoon while unloading items from the trunk of his car behind Plaza Galerías in Supermanzana 2 of Cancún.

The victim, whose identity has not been officially released by authorities, was handling objects in the rear of a white Seat Ibiza when armed suspects approached him on a motorcycle. The attackers fired directly at the man multiple times before fleeing the scene on their vehicle.

Emergency Response at the Scene

Witnesses of the shooting contacted the 911 emergency hotline, prompting a response from municipal police officers.

Responding officers found the victim lying unconscious on the public street wearing a black t-shirt and grey shorts, and subsequently requested assistance from paramedics. Emergency medical personnel from ERUM arrived at the location and confirmed that the man no longer had vital signs.

Police Search and Forensic Processing

Following the confirmation of death, municipal police searched the surrounding area for the suspects without locating them.

Agents from the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) and forensic services arrived at the scene to process the area, collect evidence, and conduct initial ministerial investigations.

Interviews with Clinic Workers and Relatives

Investigators interviewed relatives of the victim and workers from “Dental Med,” the dental clinic where the man worked.

Authorities are reviewing whether the victim had conflicts with other individuals or if he had recently been targeted by threats or extortion, based on information gathered from family interviews.
