Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Co Limerick
A man in his 20s died early Sunday morning when the car he was driving struck a tree on the N21 at Cummeen, Adare, Co Limerick. The incident took place at approximately 2.40am.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was subsequently transported to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination. Two male passengers in the vehicle also sustained injuries. One passenger in his 20s remained in a critical condition on Sunday, while an adult teenager suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The N21 at Cummeen was closed on Sunday morning to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical examination, with local diversions put in place. Gardaí at Henry Street Garda Station have urged any road users who were traveling on the N21 between 2.15am and 2.45am to come forward with any available camera or dashcam footage.
Motorcyclist Killed in Co Wexford Collision
Earlier on Sunday afternoon, a motorcyclist in his 50s died following a collision between his motorcycle and a van on the R736 near Wellington Bridge, Co Wexford. Emergency services and Gardaí were alerted to the crash shortly before 3.15pm.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van did not require immediate hospital treatment. The road remained closed on Sunday evening for an examination by Garda technical specialists, and local diversions were implemented.

The motorist was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan for a post-mortem examination. Separate Bus Collision Investigated in Co Waterford
In a separate incident on Sunday evening, emergency services responded to a serious collision involving a car and a bus on the N25 Youghal to Dungarvan road near Piltown, Co Waterford.
The crash happened shortly before 8pm. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while several bus passengers were transported to hospital for treatment of injuries understood not to be life-threatening.
