The Korean Compliance Academy (KCA) is participating in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Annual Meeting 2026, held in Paris, France, from September 28 to October 2, 2026, according to an announcement by the organization. The delegation’s attendance marks its second participation in an ISO annual meeting, following the 2023 gathering in Brisbane, Australia, as reported by FerroTimes.
ISO Paris Assembly and AFNOR Centenary
The 2026 ISO Annual Meeting coincides with the 100th anniversary of the French Standardization Association (AFNOR). The event brings together experts from 177 ISO member nations and major international standardization bodies under the core theme “Building Trust in a Changing World.” According to KCA, participation requires a strict registration process, highlighting the professional standing of the domestic private consulting body on the global stage. Representatives plan to examine the evolving role of international standards and discuss strategic directions for compliance and risk management.
Compliance Management and AI Governance
During the five-day conference, KCA will review global trends across several key governance frameworks, including ISO 37301 for compliance management systems, ISO 37001 for anti-bribery management systems, and ISO 37003 for fraud controls. In addition to traditional compliance benchmarks, the delegation will engage in specialized sessions concerning artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. According to KCA’s itinerary, discussions will focus on digital trust and the practical implementation of standards such as ISO/IEC 42001 for artificial intelligence management systems.
Post-Event Strategy and Domestic Support
KCA Chief Executive Officer Chang Dae-hyun stated that the academy intends to leverage its eight years of consulting experience with domestic corporations and public institutions to strengthen compliance frameworks tailored to South Korea’s regulatory environment. Following the conclusion of the Paris assembly, KCA plans to publish a comprehensive analysis report detailing international standardization trends. Furthermore, the organization will host the “ISO AM 2026 Paris Insight Invitation Seminar” to brief domestic practitioners on regulatory responses and risk mitigation strategies.
