Oracle Red Bull Racing confirmed the contract extension ahead of the Baku race weekend, locking in Hadjar’s seat. According to Red Bull Team Principal Laurent Mekies, the organization values the consistency and maturity the young driver brings to the garage. “We are very much looking forward to continuing our journey with Isack,” Mekies stated, highlighting Hadjar’s strong performances both on and off the track since joining the senior squad.
The long-term commitment marks a departure from Red Bull’s recent driver struggles. In 2024, veteran Sergio Pérez faced mounting pressure and lost pace, prompting the team to cycle through multiple drivers during 2025. Neither Liam Lawson nor Yuki Tsunoda secured a permanent foothold during that turbulent stretch, leaving Hadjar’s arrival to restore stability to Verstappen’s side of the garage.
Hadjar’s path to the senior team began through the Red Bull Junior Driver program in 2022. Following a competitive Formula 2 runner-up campaign in 2024 against Gabriel Bortoleto, he stepped into Formula 1 with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) in 2025.
