Following the attack inside a room, Selamet ran outside engulfed in flames while calling for help.
Medical Treatment and Financial Constraints
During his hospitalization at RSUP Prof Ngoerah, the victim’s family faced significant difficulties covering medical expenses. Because Selamet was a victim of a crime, he was unable to use coverage from Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) Kesehatan. Treatment costs relied entirely on donations from community members, volunteers, and other contributors, which successfully raised Rp 35 million. However, this amount fell far short of the hospital bills, which had reached Rp 88 million by Thursday, September 24, 2026. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka also contributed a donation of Rp 25 million for the victim, which was deposited directly into the hospital account in Denpasar.
Police Investigation and Funeral Arrangements
