Boherbue secured a hard-fought 0-15 to 0-12 victory over Duhallow rivals Dromtarriffe in the McCarthy Insurance Group IAFC quarter-final at Ballydesmond on Friday night.
The winners never trailed after conceding the opening score of the match. Dromtarriffe entered the fixture following a four-goal victory against Mitchelstown, but found scoring opportunities limited against a resilient Boherbue defence anchored by Kevin Cremin. Darren O’Connor opened the scoring for Dromtarriffe before Boherbue responded with five unanswered points, featuring a two-point free from John Corkery.
Boherbue established a four-point advantage in the first half, though Dromtarriffe responded through scores from Evan Murphy and Andrew Healy. A late first-half scoring burst from Boherbue, aided by Pa Daly’s work rate in midfield and a point from Liam Moynihan, established a 0-10 to 0-7 lead at the interval.

Extra time loomed before Boherbue registered the game’s final scores through Gerry O’Sullivan and a close-range free from David O’Connor, sealing the three-point win.
