Tunisia will host an international workshop on global date marketing and promotion on September 30 and October 1, 2026, gathering industry experts, and international council representatives in Tunis to expand export markets. The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries announced the upcoming event alongside the International Date Council and the Interprofessional Date Group (GID).
Event Leadership and International Attendance
The two-day conference opens at a capital hotel under the auspices of Agriculture Minister Ezzeddine Ben Cheikh. Princess Sara bent Bandar ben Abdelaziz Al Saoud, executive director of the International Date Council, will attend alongside member state representatives, public institutions, private sector operators, and agricultural supply chain professionals. The gathering focuses on strengthening the global market presence of date products through shared expertise in marketing, promotion, and export strategies.
Export Competitiveness and Quality Standards
Opening sessions on September 30 center on international market access, quality control requirements, and regulatory compliance. Participants will examine marketing frameworks, export mechanisms, value creation, and methods to boost the international competitiveness of Tunisian dates. Structured cooperation meetings scheduled throughout the day will provide a forum for attendees to establish trade partnerships and explore new exchange opportunities within the global date sector.

Field Inspection in Nabeul Governorate
The itinerary for October 1 features a field visit to the date processing and export facility operated by the company VACPA in Beni Khalled, located within the Nabeul Governorate. The site visit allows delegates to observe commercial packaging, product valorization, and export operations firsthand. Date production remains a main component of Tunisian agriculture and foreign trade, making value-added marketing critical priorities for industry growth on international markets.
