According to off-duty paramedic Wes Bradley, who was attending the game and jumped from the stands to assist, the first emergency involved a coach on the field. Bradley noted that field personnel called out for immediate medical help because the situation exceeded their immediate scope.

Players and Coaches Gather in Prayer on the Turf

After assisting with the initial emergency and confirming with the on-duty paramedic that no further help was needed at that exact spot, a second person was reported down in the stands. Almost immediately afterward, a third individual suffered a medical emergency nearby. Cabot senior Patrick Bell recounted that players and coaches from both competing squads gathered on the field in a collective moment of prayer as the crises mounted.

Following the first incident, coaches and administrators from both Cabot and Little Rock Christian met to evaluate whether the game should proceed. School leadership concluded that football had become secondary to the health and safety of those involved, leading to the decision to stop the game. The 14-7 score in favor of Little Rock Christian will stand as the final result, according to school administrators.

In response to the emergencies, Cabot Public School District superintendent Michael Byrd, athletic director Scott Reed, and head football coach Lance Clark released a joint statement thanking first responders, medical personnel, and athletic trainers for making an incredible difference when it mattered most. The district confirmed via updates shared by KARK and Arkansas Radio that all three individuals who received medical care were either home or recovering, with transported individuals reported as alert and receiving care.

Cabot parent Jennifer Bradley stated that continuing with social celebrations would not have felt appropriate under the circumstances.
