Early Doubles Split Sets Tight Tone
In the opening doubles matches at SB Versbach II, the visiting Bad Rodach squad secured an early breakthrough. Milena Müller and 12-year-old Rosalie Ehrlicher faced Versbach’s top duo, Zoe Plötz and Julia Gilde, claiming a straight-sets victory at 3-0 (8-11, 9-11, 6-11) to put the visitors ahead. On the neighboring table, teammates Laura Wölfert and Anna Schmidt dropped a 1-3 match against Katja Bussmann and Daniela Baumann (9-11, 11-2, 11-7, 11-5), leaving the overall team score level at 1-1.
Host Squad Takes Control of Singles
The hosts seized momentum as the singles matches got underway. Milena Müller fell in three tight sets to Daniela Baumann (9-11, 8-11, 14-16), while Anna Schmidt took the opening set against Zoe Plötz before dropping the next three (12-10, 7-11, 8-11, 6-11). Amid the mounting deficit, Rosalie Ehrlicher provided a strong response for Bad Rodach. The 12-year-old defeated Katja Bussmann in straight sets (11-9, 11-4, 11-8) to narrow the team score gap. Milena Müller followed with a hard-fought contest against Katja Bussmann, rallying from a two-set deficit to force a deciding fifth set before falling 2-3 (4-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-8, 7-11).
Ehrlicher returned to the table to claim her second singles victory of the day, defeating Daniela Baumann 3-1 (10-12, 11-3, 11-1, 11-9) to keep Bad Rodach within striking distance.
SB Versbach II Secures Match Victory
The hosts closed out the fixture in the final individual rotations. Zoe Plötz defeated Laura Wölfert in straight sets (11-7, 13-11, 11-7), and Julia Gilde sealed the 7-3 overall victory for SB Versbach II by overcoming Anna Schmidt 3-1 (11-8, 9-11, 11-8, 11-8).
Despite the league loss leaving TSV 1860 Bad Rodach II without a point through their first two matches of the season, the performance of their youngest competitor highlighted the afternoon. Rosalie Ehrlicher finished the day undefeated in her individual matches alongside her doubles win with Milena Müller.
