German tuning firm Carpoint GmbH has pulled back the curtain on a pair of virtual customization concepts that reimagine the Dacia Spring and Dacia Striker. Under the company’s “Redust” brand, these budget-friendly commuters are transformed into aggressive, motorsport-inspired builds. While Carpoint has previously produced physical modifications for the Dacia Duster and Bigster, these latest designs push the compact vehicles into new high-performance styling territory.
The Redust Spring: Aggressive Aesthetics, Stock Power
The conceptual Dacia Spring ditches its utilitarian roots for an extensive aerodynamic package. The digital overhaul features a widened body kit paired with a slammed, lowered suspension. Carpoint’s design integrates large black wheels, a modified hood, and additional daytime running lights. A prominent rear diffuser and a racing-style wing—evoking the silhouette of touring car championships—complete the transformation.
Yet, the hardware tells a different story. The virtual build adheres strictly to factory powertrain specifications, retaining the stock output of 82 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque. With a top speed capped at 130 km/h, the car’s track-ready aesthetics vastly outpace its actual performance metrics. Any real-world fabrication would demand significant mechanical heavy lifting, specifically to house the wider wheel tracks and the upgraded braking systems required for larger physical discs.
Reimagining the Striker Estate
Carpoint also unveiled a digital study of a modified Dacia Striker estate. This lowered wagon swaps its standard trim for custom sport bumpers, extended side sills, and a redesigned front fascia. Subtle aerodynamic cues, including a rear spoiler and new alloy wheels, round out the aesthetic.
Potential for Real-World Development
While the production Dacia Striker currently utilizes a 155-horsepower 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain, the tuned concept envisions a more potent configuration, potentially a turbocharged two-litre engine. Carpoint has built several real cars.
