Air Force Warns of Inbound Ballistic Missiles from Kursk

The assault began after the Ukrainian Air Force identified a threat of ballistic weaponry originating from Kursk. At 1:21 a.m., the Air Force confirmed ballistic missiles were heading toward Kyiv. Shortly after, explosions were reported across the city.

Wreckage Scatters Across Solomianskyi and Pecherskyi

The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCVA) reported that wreckage fell in the Solomianskyi district, landing in the courtyard of a residential building, though no fire was reported at that specific location. In the Pecherskyi district, a fire broke out in a three-story non-residential building. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that an administrative building of an infrastructure object was also struck in the Solomianskyi district.

Sustained Jet-Powered Drone Waves Hit Capital

As the night progressed, the threat profile shifted from ballistic missiles to a drone attack. By 2:05 a.m., Klitschko reported a fire at one of the buildings of an educational institution in the Solomianskyi district caused by an impact. Further explosions were heard throughout the city at approximately 2:45 a.m. and 4:40 a.m. as the threat of jet-powered drones continued.

Emergency Crews Deploy to Residential and School Fires

By 5:00 a.m., city officials provided an updated assessment of the damage. In the Holosiivskyi district, falling debris ignited a fire on the roof of a five-story residential building. The Pecherskyi district sustained damage to a three-story non-residential structure, while debris also landed on the territory of a private residential house in the Solomianskyi district.

Casualty Verification Follows Preceding Day of Heavy Bombardment

Emergency crews were deployed to each site to extinguish fires and clear debris. Authorities are currently working to finalize the assessment of total damage and verify whether there were casualties resulting from the overnight strikes. This wave of attacks followed a preceding day, during which local officials reported that 26 people were injured and two were killed in Russian strikes in Kyiv on September 28.
