The Vegas Thrill holds the No. 1 overall selection for the upcoming Major League Volleyball draft, which is scheduled for Monday, November 23. Major League Volleyball finalized the selection order through its draft lottery as five additions to Major League Volleyball prepare to enter the league ahead of the 2027 season.
Draft Lottery Results and First-Round Selections
Vegas enters the upcoming season under new ownership, welcoming head coach Rachel Morris and several already-announced roster additions. MLV Los Angeles holds the second choice of the first round under head coach Alisha Childress, who led her team in San Diego to the postseason a year ago. The Minnesota Forge, DC Flight, and NorCal Rumble occupy the third, fourth, and fifth lottery spots, respectively. Rounding out the remainder of the first-round order are the Columbus Fury, Atlanta Vibe, Orlando Valkyries, Dallas Pulse, Indy Ignite, and two picks held by the Omaha Supernovas. Omaha owns the eighth overall selection through a February 13, 2026 trade with the Grand Rapids Rise, in addition to their selection at No. 10.
Second-Round Lottery and Selection Breakdown
League officials conducted a separate lottery to determine the top five picks of the second round. MLV Los Angeles secured the top selection in round two, followed by Minnesota, NorCal, Vegas, and DC. Remaining picks in both rounds were determined in order of regular season record. The second round features selections from Los Angeles at No. 13, Minnesota at No. 14, NorCal at No. 15, Vegas at No. 16, DC at No. 17, Columbus at No. 18, Atlanta at No. 19, Grand Rapids at No. 20, Orlando at No. 21, and Omaha at No. 22. Columbus holds the 23rd selection via a November 24, 2025 trade with the Dallas Pulse, while Indy Ignite closes out the second round at No. 24.
Eligibility and Timeline for the November Draft
The two-round draft takes place in November at a date to be determined, preceding the NCAA Volleyball Championship and the opening of MLV training camps. Players completing their fourth or fifth season of college eligibility qualify for selection in the Major League Volleyball Draft.
