Netflix adds all five films in the Bourne franchise to its streaming library on October 1, bringing the complete action series starring Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner to the platform. The acquisition bundles the core trilogy featuring Jason Bourne alongside the 2012 spin-off and the 2016 sequel, giving subscribers access to every installment of the espionage property.
The Original Bourne Trilogy Arrives on Netflix
The addition begins with The Bourne Identity (2002), which introduces a man with amnesia facing life on the run from shadowy enemies as he fights to piece together his identity and his mysterious connection to the CIA. In the 2004 sequel The Bourne Supremacy, an assassin drives Jason Bourne out of his refuge, thrusting him into secret alliances, setups, and shootouts. The original run concludes with The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), where a relentlessly hunted Bourne continues his international quest to piece together his past and learn his true identity.
Expansion Films Joining the Franchise Lineup
The streaming rollout also includes the 2012 expansion The Bourne Legacy. In this film, Jason Bourne’s exposé threatens the government’s secret programs, leaving another agent as the prime target of a deadly cover-up operation. The fifth installment, Jason Bourne (2016), follows the title character stepping out of hiding to investigate a cyber conspiracy and search for answers about his father’s mysterious death while the CIA hunts him down.
