AAA Rey de Reyes 2026: How to Watch, Match Card, and Key Storylines
The 2026 Rey de Reyes event, produced by Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) in partnership with WWE, begins tonight from the Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla, Mexico. This marks the 29th Rey de Reyes show since 1997 and the first to be held under WWE’s ownership of AAA. The event will air over three weeks, starting March 14th and concluding on March 28th, 2026.
How to Watch
The broadcast begins at 10 PM ET / 7 PM PT. Viewers in the United States and most of the world can stream the show live and free on the WWE YouTube channel and WWE Facebook page. The English language stream will be available on the main WWE YouTube channel, while the Spanish language version can be found on the WWE Espanol and Lucha Libre AAA YouTube channels.
In Mexico, Central America, and South America (except Brazil), the show will air live on FOX, FOX One, and FOX Tubi at 9 PM ET / 8 PM CT.
It’s crucial to note that tonight’s broadcast is live, while the episodes on March 21st and March 28th are taped. Not all matches will be aired tonight, with some being held for the subsequent weeks.
Week 1 Match Card (March 14)
- AAA Mega Championship – No Disqualification Match: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. The Viking’s Son. The stipulation is that if Mysterio loses, he must leave AAA forever, and if Vikingo loses, he can never challenge for the AAA Mega Championship again while Mysterio is champion.
- Rey de Reyes Tournament Final – Fatal Four-Way: The Parka vs. “The Original” The Great American vs. The Great American vs. Santos Escobar. The winner will receive the ceremonial Rey de Reyes sword and a future AAA Mega Championship match.
- AAA Reina de Reinas Championship – Open Challenge: Flammer (c) vs. TBD. Flammer’s challenge is limited to a competitor from either WWE Monday Night Raw or SmackDown.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta will kick off the show and present the ceremonial sword to the Rey de Reyes tournament winner.
Weeks 2 and 3 (March 21 and March 28)
The following matches are confirmed for the Rey de Reyes three-week run but have not been assigned to a specific week:
- AAA World Tag Team Championship: Pagano and Psycho Clown (c) vs. The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar)
- AAA World Cruiserweight Championship – Fatal Four-Way: Laredo Kid (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. TJP vs. Jack Cartwheel
Key Storylines
The main event between Dominik Mysterio and The Viking’s Son carries significant stakes. Mysterio previously defeated Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship at Worlds Collide: Las Vegas in September 2025. Vikingo earned his rematch on January 31, 2026, and the no disqualification stipulation with career-altering consequences was set during a contract signing on February 21, 2026. Mysterio recently lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Penta on the March 2nd Raw, entering tonight’s match no longer a double champion.
The rivalry between The Great American and “The Original” The Great American has been a prominent storyline. Ludwig Kaiser adopted the El Grande Americano character and gained popularity in Mexico, while Chad Gable has claimed to be the original, facing accusations of using AI-generated promos and faking his Spanish language skills. Their feud culminates tonight in the Rey de Reyes final alongside La Parka and Santos Escobar.
The War Raiders secured their tag title shot with a win on February 14th. Pagano and Psycho Clown are the current AAA World Tag Team Champions, defending against The War Raiders, who continue to compete across both AAA and WWE.
Flammer’s open challenge adds an element of surprise, as she seeks a challenger from either WWE Raw or SmackDown, with the opponent yet to be announced.
