I have called Affoltern home for 57 years. As a non-party, I do not fulfill party expectations, but rather use my personal stance to support the city and our schools. I practice empathy and, as a team player, maintain a constructive dialogue in the city council and committees. As a long-time teacher and practical teacher, I am familiar with different school models and teacher training. I know how our schools can develop profitably. My part-time training as a school special education teacher gives me additional professional expertise. As a primary and secondary school principal, I bring strategic experience, such as developing legislative goals, as well as leadership skills and assertiveness. As an examiner at the Limmattal Cantonal School and through the education of my sons, I experienced the elementary, cantonal and private schools, the vocational apprenticeship and the studies and gained a comprehensive insight into our educational landscape.

As a city councilor, I want to strengthen the networking between clubs and businesses with schools and stay in touch. The schools should open up even more.

As president of primary school nursing, I maintain regular communication with the head of education. I care about the future of our schools. Parents should be taken on board and responsible. The children must be equipped with the necessary basic and social skills and the teachers must be trained in the requirements of our time, such as equal opportunities and digitalization. Collaboration with PH Zurich is essential for their training and further education.

The newly formed city council must build trust among the population through transparent communication and careful handling of finances. The attractiveness for various target groups must be increased and the Affoltern location must become more attractive for businesses. Cultural life should also be intensified. Examples include busier meeting areas and occasions such as reviving a carnival parade. Young and old alike must be heard.

We must take care of our local recreation areas, as they are important for various leisure activities and also appeal to newcomers. Despite growth and change, parts of the original village center must be preserved as a character feature of our city.
