Air Force Hockey Standouts Earn All-Atlantic Hockey Honors

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Three Air Force Falcons – senior defenseman Chris Hedden, junior defenseman Nolan Cunningham, and junior goalie Dominik Wasik – have been recognized for their outstanding performances this season with All-Atlantic Hockey honors, as announced by the league office.

Hedden Named First Team All-AHA

Senior defenseman Chris Hedden earned a spot on the First Team All-Atlantic Hockey, becoming the first Falcon to receive this honor since Will Gavin in the 2023-24 season and the first defenseman since Phil Boje in 2016-17. Hedden led all AHA defensemen in goals (9) and points (24) during league play. He also finished second nationally among defensemen with 12 goals and 34 points overall. Hedden was a five-time AHA Defenseman of the Week and is a nominee for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. He also led the team with 63 blocked shots.

Cunningham and Wasik Secure Third Team All-AHA Recognition

Junior defenseman Nolan Cunningham and junior goalie Dominik Wasik were both named to the Third Team All-Atlantic Hockey. Cunningham ranked third among league defensemen in points (16) and plus-minus (+7) in conference games, tying for first in power-play goals (two). He finished fifth on the team in overall points (20) and goals (7), leading the Falcons with three game-winning goals.

Junior goaltender Wasik tied for the AHA lead with 13 wins and three shutouts in conference play. He was a four-time AHA Goalie of the Week and twice named AHA Goalie of the Month. Wasik recorded four shutouts this season, placing him among the top ten nationally, and started the final 32 games, leading the Falcons to 17 victories.

Falcons Achieve Winning Season

Air Force concluded the regular season with an 18-15-4 record, marking their first winning season since 2018-19. The 18 wins tied the most since the 2017-18 season. The team went 8-4-2 in their final 14 games and secured 11 road wins, the most since the 2017-18 season. This marks the most all-conference selections for the Falcons since four players were honored in 2011-12.
