Al Arabi Secures Second Consecutive Qatar Handball League Title

Doha, Qatar – Al Arabi have retained the Qatar Handball League title for the 2025-2026 season, marking their second consecutive championship win and their fourth overall title in the league’s history. The team clinched the victory despite a narrow 26-25 loss to Al Rayyan on Wednesday, in the 17th round of the competition.

Key to Al Arabi’s Success

Al Arabi’s title defense was solidified by a crucial result in the same round: Al Duhail’s 29-26 defeat to Al Ahli. This outcome mathematically secured Al Arabi’s lead in the standings, giving them an unassailable four-point advantage over Al Duhail before the final round of matches.

Current Standings

As of March 25, 2026, Al Arabi leads the league with 49 points. Al Duhail holds second place with 45 points, followed by Al Rayyan in third with 41 points. Further down the standings:

  • Al Sadd is in fourth place with 35 points.
  • Al Wakrah and Al Ahli are tied for fifth and sixth place with 32 points each, with Al Wakrah ahead on goal difference.
  • Al Khor is in seventh place with 29 points.
