Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Al-Nassr ended in a 2-0 defeat against Spanish club Almería in Lisbon on Tuesday, concluding the Saudi Pro League side’s pre-season training camp in Portugal with three losses in four matches.
Al-Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou used a mix of regular starters and substitutes for the opening half, which finished scoreless. Almería broke the deadlock shortly after the break when a forward beat Brazilian goalkeeper Bento in a one-on-one situation at the 51st minute, according to match accounts. Ten minutes later, the Spanish La Liga side doubled their lead from a penalty kick.
The fixture marked the final test of Al-Nassr’s Portuguese training camp as the team prepares for the upcoming 2026-2027 campaign. During their four friendlies abroad, Al-Nassr secured a single 2-0 victory against Spanish third-division side Mérida. Prior to the loss against Almería, the Riyadh-based club dropped matches against Benfica’s reserve team (2-1) and Estrela Amadora (4-2).
